Why this site exists

Hi, I’m Dien. I’m a high school senior in California. I built CREX during my own application year.

Good help with a college essay costs money. A private counselor can cost hundreds of dollars an hour. Most people can’t pay that, so their essay gets read by a friend, or by nobody. The people who can pay get read carefully. That isn’t fair.

Students can help each other here. Someone a year ahead of you has done the same prompts and knows what works.

CREX is free, and it will stay free.

No essay posted here goes unanswered.

The site is new, so that isn’t true yet. If you post an essay and nobody answers in a few days, email me and I’ll read it and leave real notes myself.

One person: me. There’s no company and no team. If you report a problem, it comes to me.

I’m the only one who can see who wrote an anonymous essay. I only look when there’s a report or abuse, and every time I do, it’s written to a log.

I built the code with AI tools (Claude Code). AI never touches your essay. It doesn’t read it, doesn’t write comments, and doesn’t decide anything about anyone. Every note on your essay is from a person. The one automated step is a filter that screens for abuse, explained on the privacy page.

• You choose who sees it: public, anonymous, or a private link.
• No private messages on CREX. No inbox, no chat. Every comment is public and can be reported.
• Search engines are told not to index essays.
• You can delete it any time.
• No ads. Nothing about you is sold.
